I once peed my pants on a skating rink floor when I was a kid. The game was freeze frame and the prize was SweetTarts. I really had to go, but there was no way I was missing the opportunity for those sugary sweet wafers that I craved so much.
I grew up in Raleigh, born and bred in an area that so many new people call home each year. I feel lucky to have known such a great place long before it was discovered by the entire eastern seaboard. I’ve always been known as a big kid. I’m tall for my age (or any age for that matter), with a shoe size that kept up with my age until I was 15. I used to think it was cool, but now I think it’s just inconvenient. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to try on a shoe before I buy it. It’s allowed me to perfect a killer Scooby Doo impression. Or so I’ve been told.
I chose a long time ago to have a positive outlook on life. I can find humor in any situation. Making people laugh, smile, and feel at ease give me the greatest joys. It’s this attitude that has afforded me a relaxed state of mind. It’s also allowed me to perfect a killer Scooby Doo impression. Or so I have been told.
I was married in 2005 to the love of my life who then gave me the greatest gift I have ever received. The birth of my son in 2008 gave me a fresh perspective on life. Gone are the days where status and possessions seemed so important. I have chosen instead to appreciate the little things in my life, like the time I get to spend with my family. My son reminds me of what it’s like to be a kid again. I practice this daily.
I love to tell stories; especially through pictures. To me, stories have more impact when expressed with emotion. It’s the emotion in an image that your eyes are drawn to. They take you places; they energize your imagination.
These are the principles that have inspired my vision. They have influenced every aspect of my life. I believe in teamwork, ethics, and a positive attitude. I hope we’ll get a chance to meet.
